General Dynamics selling satellite unit to Orbital
Orbital Sciences Corp. , a Virginia-based space-systems maker with major operations in Chandler, said Thursday it has agreed to acquire the Gilbert based satellite development and manufacturing business of General Dynamics Corp.
The acquisition of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is expected to close within about a month. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The deal includes General Dynamics’135,000-square-foot satellite manufacturing and test facility in Gilbert, about 10 miles from Orbital’s launch vehicle engineering and manufacturing facilities in Chandler.
