“We believe this technology provides the sustainable attributes necessary to replace wood and concrete block as a major building material in the United States, China, Mexico, Africa and the Middle East, while increasing the quality of construction throughout the rest of the world,” explains Dale R. Siens, Lacuna Inc.’s President and CEO.

Each APEX Block is made with 100% post-industrial/pre-consumer recycled expanded polystyrene (EPS). With the inherent thermal value properties of EPS, structures built with APEX Block can help owners and occupants save up to 50% on their energy bills. There is no formaldehyde, off-gassing, VOCs or known carcinogens in any of the APEX Block materials. Structures built with APEX Block offer a long list of benefits: high thermal value rating/insulation, will NOT mold or mildew, seismic/earthquake rating of 8.5 and wind/hurricane rating of 165 MPH when properly reinforced, 75% less sound penetration than through a wood wall, pest and termite resistance, a fire resistance rating of nearly four hours, and much more.

Lacuna Inc., headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon, with a manufacturing facility in Phoenix, Arizona, and soon in Roseburg, Oregon, embraces innovative products capable of improving daily lives through technology breakthroughs and improved channels to the marketplace.
