Chandler: Ganesh Moorthy named COO of Microchip Technology

Microchip Technology promotes Ganesh Moorthy to COO

Microchip Technology Inc. has promoted Ganesh Moorthy to executive vice president and chief operating officer, the company’s board announced Tuesday.

Moorthy has been with Microchip since 2001, and has been president of the Chandler company’s advanced microcontroller and automotive division. He became executive vice president in 2006.

Moorthy worked at Intel Corp. with Microchip’s President and CEO Steve Sanghi.

“Ganesh has taken on increasing levels of responsibility in recent years, and he will play an increasingly larger role in helping me run the entire company, including strategic planning, annual operating plans, operations management and investor relations activities,” Sanghi said.

Microchip (Nasdaq:MCHP) provides microcontroller and analog semiconductors to numerous industries.
