Phoenix Business Journal - by Mike Sunnucks
The Snell & Wilmer LLP law firm has cut between 30 and 40 administrative and support positions.
Snell chairman John Bouma confirmed the layoffs Friday. Phoenix-based Snell has 1,000 employees firmwide. Bouma did not give a specific number on the cuts but confirmed they were between 30 and 40.
He said no attorneys were cut but said the law firm needed to reduce staff. “You hate like mad to do it,” Bouma said.
He said most of the cuts came at Snell’s Arizona Center headquarters in downtown Phoenix. That is where the law firm has most of its attorneys.
Snell also has offices in Los Angeles; Denver; Tucson; Los Cabos, Mexico; Las Vegas; Salt Lake City; and Costa Mesa, Calif.
The firm is one of the largest law firms based in the Phoenix-market and the Southwestern U.S.
