Tucson-based Universal Avionics Systems Corp. has been named Arizona’s outstanding small manufacturer for 2009.
The award, from the Arizona Manufacturers Council, will be presented May 29 at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort in Scottsdale. U.S Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., will be the luncheon speaker.
Founded in 1981 by business jet pilot Hubert L. Naimer, the company makes avionics systems for aircraft ranging from helicopters to large commercial airliners.
